Adele's partial repaint and haircut by me
As mentioned in the title, this is a blog about aiming to the impossible: bringing dolls into life...
I collect and play with dolls for the past 9 years.
It started in December 2000 when i decided to make a diorama for my jewelry shop window.
I found the furniture, a Christmas tree and decorations and then i needed people..
So i went shopping having vaguely in mind the barbies. I hadn't seen a barbie since the 80's.
I enterend the toy store, went to the barbie section and saw ...the collectibles. That was it! I was hooked! I bought two, then the next day i bought two more , and by the end of the week i owned every collectible doll they had.
Then some day i saw an articulated playline ballerina. OMG! Articulation? This was Heaven!
I took home six identical dolls. I needed bodies for my collectibles.
That day begun the obsession of customizing. I started swaping heads and parts, cutting hair ,repainting,( scary..) making shoes and clothes, rooms and furniture and doing anything possible to make my dolls look more human.
Today's dolls have incredible articulation and realistic faces but its impossible to stop myself from customizing . I am officially addicted!
